I was just wondering if anyone has been there. My main teacher knows the Whites and wants me go there for a while.

John White and Margarita De Saa have trained a number of professional dancers over the years. The school in Narberth, Pa has been in existence since the late 1970s. Mr. White also gives a methodology program on the teaching of the Vaganova program. They are both also very lovely people.

Knock, knock...

My 11 year old dd goes to PAB. You may PM me if you'd like. She loves it there, and has improved so much since she started in June!

I trained with the White's for 2 years. They are great people and train dancers in a very straight forward, clean technique. They are very fair and work with all dancers to help them find their place in the dance community...

leslia, welcome to Ballet Talk for Dancers - we're so glad you've found your way here and really hope you'll become involved in other discussions on the board, as well. :(

Although I've never had the pleasure of meeting the White's, I found his book Teaching Classical Ballet to be extremely helpful to me as a neophyte ballet mother...and I often wished we'd lived in his area so my daughter could have studied with him. It's great to have some people on the board who can share their experiences with this program.

My DD had Margarita De Saa at SERBA a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed her classes.

I'm hoping someone will be able to update on the current "graduates" (if any) in this program and what their plans are for next year. If they have company positions, please let us know if those are trainee, apprentice, corp and then male/female. This information helps others track the true success of the program from year to year.

Is there any current information on their trainee program or school?

I think you may be looking for The School of the Pennsylvania Ballet, which is the school affiliated with the Pennsylvania Ballet company, as this school does not have a trainee program.

I could not reply to your other post, but if it is The School of the Pennsylvania Ballet you are looking for, the thread is here. They school changed a little in the last year, renaming the top level of the school as "trainees."  So, if you read about level 8 at the school, that level would now be considered the trainee level (at least during the past year).
