Connection to/Interest in Ballet:college major

I'm in the process of figuring out my schedule for next semester, which will be my second semester junior year in college. As things stand now, I'm a double major in dance and biology and am crossing my fingers things will continue to work out for me to be able to graduate with both at the end of next year. My biggest dilemma right now is that the anatomy class I need to take conflicts with one of the ballet and one of the modern classes I was planning on taking next semester. The anatomy class will be offered again next fall but my fear is that it may then conflict with the one remaining biology course I need to take in order to graduate.

I guess my question is what would only having ballet and modern three days a week do to me? I'd still have a pointe class on those days, and likely rehearsals as well but I know that's not the same as having technique classes. Dance wise, my schedule would be (w/out Anatomy--I'd take a different course in its place), with various rehearsals in the evenings and on weekends:
MWF
9-10:30 Ballet
1:30-2:30 Pointe
3-4:30 Modern
4:30-6 Dance Composistion

TuTh
9-10:30 Ballet
10:30-12 Modern
1:30-2:30 Pointe

If I were to take Anatomy, I'd lose both the ballet and modern on Tu/Th but potentially be able to pick up a different modern class on Tuesdays from 12-1:30 (but not Thursdays due to conflict with a different class).

I've made a lot of technical gains this semester that I don't want to lose by only having class three days a week. Do you think I'd lose that progress? As long as I won't go backwards, I'm okay feeling like the progress is slower because I know that I do need to take these other academic classes at some point--I just really don't want to lose what I've gained because I really feel like I've made some huge steps forward and overcome a lot of issues I've been working on. So I guess that's just a very roundabout way of asking if having technique class three days a week (plus an hour of pointe class on the other two and the potential for rehearsal) is enough for maintenance or if I really do need 5 days/week to keep up what I've got.

Thank you so much for any input.

As you know, there is nothing that can replace a daily ballet class. I would like very much to tell you that it will be okay, but I just cannot. Sorry. Perhaps another Moderator may have different input. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dunno.gif)

Now, trying to phrase this in a non-advice giving way, but perhaps you could talk to your teachers (especially dance teachers) about taking extra classes at another studio, to make up the 'missed' classes, I'm sure the moderators would be able to suggest other options, but for me, the first person I go to is my dance teacher. Luckily my studio is very supportive and willing to assist in scheduling issues (including me starting university soon) so perhaps yours will be too. Hope this helps, and sorry if it sounds like advice, tried to keep it to experience.

Thank you vrsfanatic--I think that's what my gut was telling me but I was looking for a way around it. Now I may run into this problem eventually anyway but hopefully I won't.

Matti--in theory, it's a good idea; in practice, it won't work for me since I'm in college and need things to count for credit. Never mind the fact that I'm in class from 9-6 daily anyway which would conflict with most studio classes available to me once you factor in the travel time via public transportation it would take for me to get there.

Thank you again
