Looking for advice about funding  for aspiring ballet dancer  under 16.

I'm  certain that there are   funding schemes available  for Brit  male ballet dancers  who are keen  to study abroad,  more specifically in Russia.

How are  children  who are sent to Russia  financially  supported?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Interested in this as well.  Our current plan for US DD planning to study in Russia for next two years is that she would be parent supported....

Eight, welcome to BT4D! I can't help answer your question, but the Moderating Team does need a bit of clarification from you:

Are you the student or the parent? Your profile states 'student' but you are posting on a Parents ONLY thread? We need to get that little detail sorted out.

As far as I know there is no official funding for Brits who wish to study abroad, in Russia or elsewhere.  In the past, students who have been accepted for courses such as the Bolshoi have had to rely on private sponsorship, generally obtained by publicity in local newspapers and a campaign of letter writing to charities and foundations who might be able to help.

NSLI FOR YOUTH RUSSIAN LANGUAGE & CULTURE RAF and BOLSHOI WAY MOSCOW SUMMER INTENSIVE.

Read up on this. (This may not help anyone outside the USA) NSLI-Y is a program funded by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs through the Russian American Foundation where selected students spend six weeks of the summer studying Russian language, culture and ballet at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow on full scholarship.
