Pain in the arm

When I hold positions of the arm for long (say, bra bas or second) my arm muscles hurt. The one very first one on the arm (not the bicep). Its a deltoid muscle. I think its the anterior deltoid... Is this an okay pain? I started having it only recently...

Well, I remember very lengthy poses in Les Sylphides where the arms would definitely begin to hurt a bit in long rehearsals. :) Not too ususual for the muscles to begin to let you know that they are tired of that position after a while!

Oh. That's a comforting fact to know. Only, one of my teachers once said that the arms should be supported from the back, so the pain should be at the muscles around the shoulder blade, I would have thought... But it's nice to know I'm not working the wrong muscles. :) Because of having so many performance rehersals, my technique has really gone to the dogs. This is weird, but I prefer ballet class to rehersals. I guess ballet is, and always will be, my favourite form of dance.
