Perfect Performer
Sometimes, When I am in Releve and I come back down my ankle will pop. Is that bad? It is only my left ankle and it only happens when I am doing one foot releves. It doesn't hurt at all, But it does it often. So I'm not sure if that is good or not. Link to comment

Guest twinklehooves
Maybe rolling your ankles would help it...I dunno... Link to comment
Perfect Performer
No, I Do that all the time, So I don't think that would help. Link to comment
Mel Johnson
Remember: no hurt, no foul. If it doesn't hurt, it's not harmful. Disregard the noise unless it's so loud that it constitutes a noise hazard! I really doubt that it's THAT loud! Link to comment
Guest twinklehooves
What exactly is happening when parts of your body "pop"?? Whether it's your ankles, back, neck, knuckles, or hips?? Link to comment
Guest Firebird3000
My dance teacher says its just a tendon or muscle that "snaps" over the bone because it isn't long enough. Nothing harmful at all! Link to comment
Guest Katrina_54
yeah, popping is when a tendon "snaps" over a bone. I twisted my ankle last year in dance, and had to go to the ER and the doctor told me that's what the popping noise was. Yuck! I hate that sound; it sounds like a bone is breaking when it's really loud. Link to comment
Guest twinklehooves
Ok, cool!! Thanx!!! My hip always pops- well, the tendons in the "Deep 5" clunk over the hip bone. That only happens when I am forcing my turnout, rolling my arches and have all the weight on my heels. So, when my hip starts clunking- I always check myself!!! Link to comment
