Guest ballerinababe88
I've never noticed this before, but yesterday when I was relaxing in a butterfly position on the floor, one of my legs was totally on the ground, and one was about an inch off it. What should I do about uneven turnout? Quote Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted March 26, 2003 Administrators Report Share Posted March 26, 2003 Not unusual, ballerinababe Most of us are not totally symmetrical, and have one side with better rotation, one foot slightly better, extension more flexible on one side, etc. Just like we turn naturally to one side better than the other. The only answer is to work harder on the weaker side! Quote Link to comment
Guest ballerinababe88
Thank you very much! What kinds of exercises are good for improving turnout on one side? Quote Link to comment
Guest Passion4Ballet
Yes, I have the same situation. While neither of my legs is amazingly turned out, my right is good enough but my left is significantly worse! What's your advice? Quote Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted March 27, 2003 Administrators Report Share Posted March 27, 2003 Do extra work on the weaker side. Work on your tendus, dégagés, and especially rond de jambes, and do more with the weak side than you do with the better side. Quote Link to comment

SwanQueen
I'm the same way, my right hip is a lot less turned out than my left. I just try to work on it a lot in class and do more excercises with it. Its hard because its a lot more fun to do your good leg;) Quote Link to comment
