Guest twinklehooves
My studio is performing Coppelia this weekend and next weekend. We have rehearsal from 4:30- 10 p.m.- everyday until the performance. I don't get home until 10:30 and I don't get to bed until 11. I am staying home today to rest. I need sleep. Are there any ways I can stay energized w/o missing school?? Any input is appreciated. Quote Link to comment
Mel Johnson
Take advantage of the breaks and offstage time you have during the course of the rehearsals. Sit down (carefully, if in costume) and relax. Quote Link to comment
BlackbirdBallerina
For me part of the energy to perform comes from all the adrenalin of late nights and lots of dancing. But I try to get as much sleep as possible and eat healthily so my body isn't running on empty. Quote Link to comment
Guest Peregrin Took
You might also look into some energy drinks that are high in carbohydrates and will replenish your energy sources during a time where adrenalin is running at a high. Quote Link to comment
Guest twinklehooves
Thanks. I bought a few energy bars and I'm thinking of doing the drink too. Opening night is tonight!!! Quote Link to comment
Guest ballerinababe88
Our spring ballet is tomarrow, and we have had rehearsals from 4:30- 10 every night too! The main thing I do is make sure I eat right and go to sleep right when I get home. I also bring an energy bar to eat betwen onstage times. Quote Link to comment
