Guest Lesy
What's the normal way for teachers to train you for pointe.Do they make you try to go on your toes or just certain things with your feet? Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted August 3, 2001 Administrators Report Share Posted August 3, 2001 In your first lesson, in addition to learning how to properly tie the ribbons and care for the shoes, you will have some very basic exercises at the barre, like tendus and dégagés, and you will be shown how to rise and lower to pointe and down. You will do a lot of elevé and relevé exercises, like sousous and échappés. Hopefully also some things like learning to walk in the shoes, using your feet and articulating each step. Possibly some bourrées and pas de bourrées in the first few lessons. You will be mostly on two feet for a little while, before learning to stand on one foot except maybe for the pas de bourrées. The exercises, except for walking, will probably be all at the barre for a while. Link to comment
