Guest Vitrichenko
Hello!! I'm a student from Spain, so sorry but I don't speak English very well. I would like to do a question. Do you know how can I work my en dehor? Is there any exercise that I can practice to improve it? I'm going to go to UK, so do you know any cheaper and good school? Thanks, Vitrichenko Quote Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted June 8, 2003 Administrators Report Share Posted June 8, 2003 Hello Vitrichenko, welcome to Ballet Alert! Online, and especially the Young Dancers' forum! You are doing just fine with your Enlish Working your en dehor is done primarily by learning to use your rotation from the hips correctly, and then making sure that you are well aligned and placed so that you can work it to the best of your ability on every exercise. All of ballet exercises are designed to work your en dehor! Rond de jambe à terre is especially good, but just working on all of your tendus and fondus and every exercise at the barre will help your rotation if you work it correctly. After the class you could spend some additional time stretching, as you are warmed up then and that is the best time to increase your flexibility. There is no one particular exercise, no magic forumula for increasing rotation. Time, work, patience! We have a lot of students from the UK here on Ballet Alert, but I think you will need to be more specific about where in the UK you will be going in order for them to help you with schools. What exercise you recomended me to do on the floor? And what can I do to improve my feet? My feet are the worst feet of the world!! Thanks, Vitrichenko Quote Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted June 21, 2003 Administrators Report Share Posted June 21, 2003 Vitrichenko, as I said above, there is no one particular exercise. There are lots of them, but you should only do things you have been taught to do by your teacher so that you know how to do them correctly. For your feet you could work with a Theraband. That is a wide strip of rubber stretchy stuff that you can find in physical therapy supply places, or online through dancewear places. There is also a site where you can buy it and the address is: www.nefitco.com/theraband.html Quote Link to comment
