"The side edge of toenail curls and pushes down into the soft skin of the toe, causing irritation or infection. Ingrown nails can be caused by abnormal pressure from pointe shoes that are too short or too narrow, by incorrectly trimmed toenails, and by thickened nails caused by pointe work." (The Pointe Book)

oh :D my dance teacher was looking at my feet the other day and i was complaining about irritation and she said i had an ingrown toenail ... =( do you have any advice for easing the pain when I dance on pointe?
