Mel Johnson
Not on a Saturday afternoon. I'm only in here between bouts of hedge-trimming. There are at least a couple of old sayings that come to mind here: "Be careful of what you ask for, you might get it." and "6P" "Prior Planning Prevents Pretty Poor Performance." If you auditioned for UBA's year-round program, you should have been financially prepared to shoulder the burden should you succeed. You will need support roughly equivalent to some college tuition and supplementary costs. All that I can come up with are more-or-less band-aids, like grants from service clubs and philanthropic societies like Rotary or the Elks, which can be given to students at the high school level. You're going to need a lot of them, each to match another, in order to pay for what you'll need. The cost of living in DC is very high, and it's necessary to have a good deal of money for even living in a residential school. Corporate giving to students has just about dried up in the current economic downturn, and even the Lords and Ladies Bountiful like IBM aren't giving at anywhere near the rate they used to. Any chance of your mom or dad catching Saddam Hussein? $25 million would help! Quote Link to comment
