ashatNYU
Good morning everyone! I had my first pointe class last night and I was actually able to walk home afterwards (I have to admit, I was doubtful!). My shoes actually felt pretty good and, aside from sickling my foot a little at times, my teacher was happy with my effort. My only problem was when I did releves in second, I didn't feel like I was getting all the way over the pointe. Is this a common problem and/or is there anything I can do to correct it? Thanks! Mel Johnson
It's very common, ash, and will improve over time as you control the sickle and become more used to pointing the feet in those hard shoes, and as the feet become stronger. Quote Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted October 1, 2003 Administrators Report Share Posted October 1, 2003 Not unusual, ashatNY! When you are just beginning, if you are not all the way up in second position try making it a little smaller until you get stronger. Quote Link to comment

Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted October 1, 2003 Administrators Report Share Posted October 1, 2003 I agree with that, ashat! (Sitting here wearing a shirt that says "I don't DO mornings!") Quote Link to comment
