I found this topic on the Adult Buddy Board and thought it would be fun here too!

 

I think it's because of ballet that............ our family rarely eats dinner together

 

I think it's because of ballet that............ our family vacations are to audition locations

 

I think it's because of ballet that............the discount dance catalog is our coffee table book

 

I think it's because of ballet that.........my husband and I have permanently changed our "date with each other" budget catagory to "pointe shoe" catagory.

 

I think it's because of ballet that... I have a Pilates Reformer bed in my living room.

 

I think it's because of ballet that......I carry many books, snacks, hair accessories, in my car

 

I think it's because of ballet that...........my daughter is a wonderfully happy, focused young woman.

I think it's because of ballet.........I experience frequent insomnia due to worry about son's full-time dance fees and how I can squeeze another dime from my paycheque!!

 

I think it's because of ballet.......I fight to stay awake while talking on the phone to my son, giving him endless support, encouragement and homework advice

 

I think it's because of ballet......my daughter has returned to tap and hip hop - just for the fun of it and I joined an adult ballet class - no Evelyn Hart in the making, but boy it's fun

I think is is because of ballet that .....my daughters upper body strength and core strength allows her to drive a golf ball very far. When asked by friends why she had given it up, with the distance she was getting on her shots, she replied she was putting her muscles to better use!!! When the boys looked puzzled she pulled up her sleeve and showed them her arms. They realized she could give them an anatomy lesson on the different muscle groups so nicely defined in her arms and shoulders and asked her where it was she worked out!!! And how she could have muscles like that in those delicate little arms.

I think it's because of ballet.......my family eats in shifts.

Because of ballet: My "New car" of not quite 2 years has 28,000 miles on it.

 

My husband took a week of vacation to drive daily to let our daughter try a new dance program in the summer.

That our dog has a "ballet related name"

That DD is really organized and learned time management.

Next to the wood stove are many pairs of pointe shoes drying. When they are not there, something looks missing.

That anyone who knows her somehow can find something ballet related for a gift. (easy to buy for)

That I have hundreds of "botched" picutres I have taken for auditions that I can not throw out. I am a "mush" with picutres.

That we find hairnets and hair pins in various locations in the car and house.

That my dear husband has come full circle on the love for ballet our daughter has. Gone from "she is too smart to just dance," to 100% understanding of her love and need to dance.

My son walks with posture you don't normally see on a 13 year old boy. You never hear me say "don't slouch".

 

I have been forced out of my shell and drive under conditions I would never place myself.

 

In one day I fed a parking meter 22 Euro for an audition.

 

I have elastic belts laying all over my house.

 

I live in Naples, instead of Gaeta.

 

I use the internet to make purchases...something I swore I would never do because I just did not trust it.

 

I am considering the thought of letting my son move away from home before he is 18.

yes the beer helps when trying to transfer funds from the line of credit to the checking account...but as my cousinin-law tells me...there are no pockets in coffins!! Enjoy the ride now!!
