Swanilda
OK: company auditions. Are black tights ever OK? I know that pink tights are standard, but I've seen black tights show up and it doesn't seem to matter if the dancer is good. Or does it? If you are auditioning in a company class, are black tights more or less acceptable than at an open audition. My main teacher says to wear whatever I feel best in (for me that would be black stirrup tights and a black 3/4 length sleeve leotard). What's the verdict? Link to comment
Mel Johnson
OK - what kind of company? Civic ballet? No, not in my class. Professional company, maybe, but I'm still not crazy about it. Link to comment
Swanilda
Yeah, professional companies (Atlanta, Washington, Alabama, Santa Fe, Arizona, ect). Thanks. Link to comment
coffee
If you wear black tights, you run the risk of having a teacher that doesn't like them. For auditions, its better to be safe with pink ones I would think. Its not that much trouble to wear pink tights. Its just not worth the risk. Link to comment
