Marjolein
I'm gonna be learning this dance (little swans dance) soon. I was wondering if anyone could give me the description of the steps of this dance. I'm gonna be missing some classes because of finals in college, and i seem to pick up the steps much faster if i already know which steps i'm gonna have to do. I know it's probably really long to post here, but it would really be a great help to me. Link to comment
Mel Johnson
It is much too long to write out here in typescript. A transcription of it is in Cyril W. Beaumont's book, The Ballet Called Swan Lake. Let's just say you'll be doing a lot of petits jetés, entrechat quatres, pas de chats and echappés. Link to comment
Marjolein
Thanks, I'll look for the book. Is it a hard dance to learn? Link to comment
skip
i learned that one during my summerschool in london! i just loved that dance. it's mostly counting, because lots of stuff gets repeated all the time. what about the little jumps with the attitudes in front and in the back....?? i have no clue what they are called, but, they're in there a lot of times as well... !! by the way...be prepared for 15 pas de chats in a row !!! ~SKIP~ Link to comment
Hans
The hardest part (as usual) is the épaulement. Link to comment
Mel Johnson
Not to mention the little fact that there are four of you doing this thing standing side-by-side with your arms linked in front of you! Togetherness, there's nothing like it! Link to comment
coffee
When I learned this, the hardest part was moving the four people as a group when we moved backwards. Also it was hard not to lean on each other or bump knees! Link to comment
