Guest BroadwayDiva8
i'm going to be a senior in high school soon and live in a small town. i am planning on not going to college after high school (i'm going to try to pursue a professional ballet career). basically at this point, after i graduate high school there's a blank spot between graduation and actually being a professional dancer. i would like to get an apprenticeship but there aren't many companies in my area. The closest ones would be American Reperatory Ballet, New Jersey Ballet, Roxey Ballet, and that's about it. How do i find out about apprenticeships? and when do i audition or apply for them? i will be 18 next june (right before i graduate high school). can i audition for an apprenticeship when i am 17 and would be turning 18 shortly? anyways, any information would be helpful! Mel Johnson
Call up the places that you're interested in working at and find out if they hire apprentices! A lot of companies don't. Quote Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted April 13, 2004 Administrators Report Share Posted April 13, 2004 Where are you doing your summer study this summer, B'way? Have you been to programs that have a trainee or an apprentice program? Using this summer to possibly set up something for next years auditions would be good. And yes, you can audition during your senior year, no matter how old you are. Quote Link to comment
