thedancingpineapple
Please move this post to the buddy board if it belongs there. I was reading my handy ballet guide, the name escapes me at this moment, but its the one with the picture of susan jaffe, I believe, jumping with an extention to the front on the cover. I was looking in particular at the ideal female body type, and this descriptin stated that the ideal female dancer had a small head. I was just wondering, what the definition of small head is. small in comparision to the rest of your body, or small cmpared to your facial features? How important is it to have a small head? What effect does it have on your dancing, or appearance while dancing? Does it have anything to do with the long neck preference in dancers? I know it seems like a silly question, but any interpretation is welcome. Quote Link to comment

Mel Johnson
You've heard of books perhaps? Ones covering the history of NYCB in the 1960s and 70s? Quote Link to comment
