Exercising off your feet??

I just got a really big plantar's wart lasered off the ball of my foot, and now I have a large open would that is really uncomfortable to walk on, let alone dance, so I have to take a couple weeks off. The thing is, my SI is in about a month and a half, and I really need to stay in shape (or rather, GET in shape because that was what I was working on before the surgery). After four days off I already feel slobby...I REALLY need to exercise. But the question is, how do you exercise off your feet?? I don't really feel comfortable about swimming because I don't think clorinated water would help it heal any faster, but.... HELP!! Thank you!

Chlorinated water will not slow the healing to any significant degree. And besides, you should never exercise off your feet. You might need them sometime. Just exercise until you get a little stronger.

wait, i was wondering what forms of exercising I should do tho, so that it won't hurt my foot. Is there anything that isn't directly related to walking or running I could do?? Sorry if I wasn't clear...

Your pool idea is great! Since the wart has been cauterized out, you won't be spreading the virus that spreads it, and the chlorinated water will make the wound area VERY clean! Just Band-aid it up after you're done. (Think of all the beats you can do!)

Sophie, you can do floor exercises, floor barre, and Pilates exercises. You can get videos of all these things, but for Pilates I would recommend training with a Pilates expert before doing it at home with the video.

Ms. Leigh- I'll try the floor exercises thanks!!

Mr. Johnson- Acually, they just took off the BIG one. To my utter horror and dismay, they flat out missed the rest!! :) I'll hop in the pool as soon as I can though..thanks for reassuring me!
