giving up?

I've been dancing since I was three...After all this time I just can't picture myself without ballet in my life...I'm 15 now. Dance is all I know how to do and the thing I love.

The thing is, since I move to America, everything is so hard. I don't have rides, my parents work, everything is so far away here, and my parents do and extra effort to pay for my ballet classes. I only take two classes a week, I used to dance 6 days a week, but now I don't have the money for it. It is already really really hard for them to pick me up and I don't even dream about staying for rehearsal.

I want to be considerate with my parents. And it's so hard not to dance for a while. It makes me really sad and I've cried so many times for this. What do you think I should do?

One thing that I'm curious about, Carla, if you don't mind: Your present location says Chiclayo, Peru. Where did you come from before there?

Hi. I thought you were supposed to write where were you from. I am from Chicalyo, Peru and I have lived there all my life. I moved here to America about two years ago. That is why I wrote that everything is so different here, everything is far away and it is hard for us to deal with this little stuff.

I hope that that answers your question :shhh:

Well, in a general sort of way, where are you now? The "location" line helps us to give advice when part of the problem is geography, and this is one of them (too far to travel to class). I mean, I could put "Da Nang, Viet Nam" for my location, because I was there in the past. I'm not there now, though!

yes, I know..I made a mistake :) , but I've lived in Peru for 13 years, so i identified myself with that more. I now live in Huntington, West Virginia. I'm not used to this, there's a lot of mountains and I've always lived in the city

anyways...that's kinda the problem...

Oh dear! Carla, I'm afraid you are not exactly in the ballet capitol of America :) I wish I had some help for you, but I really don't know of anything in that area that would provide the type of training it sounds like you had in Peru. I think that the only answer for you would be to go away to a full time Academy, like Harid, Walnut Hill, North Carolina School for the Arts, etc.
