Guest Eulalia
I was just wondering something, I stretch myself out and I have a perfect middle split and frog, but after stopping for about an hour or more I don't have them perfectly anymore. So how can I get my flexibility not to jump around and not re-stretch myself? Any help or answers are appreciated. Thank you! Quote Link to comment
Guest limeymauve
I think your flexibility changes on how warm and stretched out your muscles are. So if you haven't done much for an hour or more, they'll just get cold. That's probably pretty normal, at least I think so. Unless there's a really huge change, which it doesn't sound like there is. Let the moderators answer though.... p.s. that's a pretty awesome name Quote Link to comment
Guest arabesque07
I'm curious about that one, too. I have a friend who literally has to constantly stretch or else she will get cold and it will take her forever to get her flexibility back. Quote Link to comment
Guest Eulalia
Firstly-thanks Limeymauve! You're probably right about the whole just getting cold thing and thanks about my name. That isn't my first name though. Secondly-Arabesque07 maybe that was the answer to our question and maybe the moderators will have something else to say. Good luck to your friend. Mel Johnson
Everybody is different. Some people's baseline flexibility is very loosey-goosey. Other people are just tight. If you've been blessed (?) by having a tight body, there's no short-cut. You are either always stretched out or you are not. Most people are in the middle however. Quote Link to comment
Guest limeymauve
that makes sense....it kind of stinks sometimes though. But if you stretch out enough you can get your base-line better, right? Like even if you don't stretch for awhile and come back to it, your flexibility will already be better than it was last time you started stretching? at least a tiny bit haha yeah i figured that wasn't your real name eulalia--i guess you're a brian jacques fan? Mel Johnson
Yes, over time and given consistent, gentle effort, a baseline flexibility can be improved, but then you can lose it in a couple of months, if the routine isn't kept up. Quote Link to comment
