It looks as though we're moving to Austin sometime soon. Would anyone here be able to suggest a good school with adult classes? I've looked into Ballet Austin's open classes, and they do look interesting, but haven't seen much else thus far.

I visited Austin sometime back. I only found 2 adult programs, one of which was the Austin Ballet. They offered the best class I took on my visit and their facilities were quite good.

Tapestry is a local dance company that offers open classes. They do offer ballet as well as other types of classes. The facilities are a bit rough at Tapestry. My dd has been happier with the open classes at Ballet Austin. The summer session starts on June 7 with the day classes running from 9-10:30 M-F. They do have some evening times available as well.

Thanks :) I've requested information from Ballet Austin about their open classes. We don't know how soon, or even with absolute certainty that we're going....but I don't want to lose time, since I've got to take time off in late summer as it is.

I go to Ballet Austin, and take the Adult classes during breaks. I would recommend them, seeing as how they have all different levels, and a variety of locations and times you can take them. They also offer a thursday night jazz class. But if you are going to take a ballet class in austin, I would definatly reccomend ballet austin, as they say "they best place to watch ballet in Austin, is also the best place to take it!"
