Guest beckster
I'm going to be at a conference at Penn State next week and because of my flights, I'll have a bit of extra time for sightseeing. I have no idea what the area is like so I don't know if this is a stupid question, but is there anything ballet-related I can do in that time? I've never been to the US before, let alone a university in the middle of nowhere with it's own airport! Also, if anyone can tell me what sort of weather to expect at this time of year, that would be great. Thanks Quote Link to comment
ashatNYU
Beckster, Interestingly/unfortunately, State College PA is one of those towns that simply exisits as a result of the University within it. It's a college town in a rural area - not too much going on. I can direct you to its webpage, but can't promise anything too exciting! One place to check out however, is the Penn State Creamery. Best ice cream around! Quote Link to comment
Guest Lizzie 37
Pack your tights. There are a number of opportunities to take class in State College. [Central Pennsylvania Dance Workshop, Ballet Theatre of Central Pennsylvania, and others. They have courses at the college, and performance spaces that frequently feature ballet, modern and jazz artists. Too bad you won't be there in early July. There is an wonderful arts festival held there each year. It may be in the middle of "no where" , but keep an open mind. Quote Link to comment
