Guest Polo161
I'm a 21 year old guy who fell in love with ballet (dance in total). I'm about 5'7 and 140 muscular. I have been taking ballet for about 3 years, my teacher and i am trying to find a full time school for me to attend, but most of them write me off because of my age. What can i do. I'm strong, very limber, and i have a heart that loves to dance . Any words would be great thanks Link to comment

Guest Polo161
at this point i'm still Trying to choose one to apply to. I finally came to the point in my life were i'm ready to venture out and find my nitch in the ballet community. I would like to stay at the studio i'm at, I love my teacher to death, but i'm in need of a aggressive progam. Something with 20+ hours a week of classes.... Esp male technique. I would like something possible in Houston, DC, Seattle (but i hear they like really tall dancers) Florida, Or california. My current teacher goes to Dc to teach on occasion. and i'm facinated by the stories. any who. i think i'm rambling. any info would help.... thank you BALLETTALK>>>>> Love the site Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted June 25, 2004 Administrators Report Share Posted June 25, 2004 Polo, you are with one of the best teachers I know! If there are not enough classes at her school, then I think she should help you to get additional classes in the area. Why not Houston Ballet, even if it's in the adult program, just in order to get additional work? I would think though, that between Ms. Vittum and Mr. Rome, there should be enough right there! And you are at home. If you go somewhere else, you will probably need to work, at least part time if not more, and taking more classes would be just as much of a problem, if not more of one. Guest Polo161
We have talked about the option of houston ballet......... But with all the changes taken place its a hard slim chance to none. and the now have a sharp cut off of age at "19" which is actually 18 on the books.... I was sad that i did not get to do Hers summer classes... I work during the day time for the next 7 months or so. after the 7 month time frame i will be able to go to a part time job, or even no job at all... anywho.......... deep in my mind i had a feeling that i should stay in houston. I just had to find out what is out their. thank you Link to comment
