I have tendonitis in my achillies and in my tendon by my 3rd and 4th meditarsols and I was wondering if anyone knew of any excercises that would help either or both tendons?

There is about a zillion people on this board that have tendonitis. there are not exercizes to help tendonitis, the best cure is rest. Iwould know this because I have made about a zillion posts about my tendonitis and that is the only answer I've gotten.

Ihave achilles tendinitis and its at the pointe wear its very bad!! I dance through I whole 4 week summer intensive with it! on pointe and everything! I have done physical theripy, massage treatments, ultra sound, and none of those helped so I have come to the conclusion that the only cure for my achilles tendinitis is rest! SO that is exactly what I am doing I am taking 6 months off dancing. Dont worry Im doing the exercize bike and streching everynight to stay in shape! good luck with your tendinitis!

Six months is a rather long time, Tinkerbell. Perhaps it can heal in less time than that, if you really rest it, ice it, and treat it very well  There is no way to know, of course, as every case is different.

NYCB2Be, the pain between the 3rd and 4th metarsals might be a neuroma. I have had this. It responded to cortisone shots. If it doesn't, then it is possible that it will require removal (ie, surgery). I had it in both feet a few years ago. It went away after a couple of cortisone shots, came back about a year later in one, and again responded and has not returned. I think it's been about 3 or 4 years since the last shot.

mr johnson my mom and I have talked to my physical theripist, my doctor, and both agree that 6 months is the best way to go because my tendinitis is very bad! I also may have a stress fracture and this thing you get from rolling (its when two bones rubbed together) so I have like 3 injuries in my foot and 6 months will make sure that all of these injuries heal! good luck everyone with your tendinitis!

Yes, you have done a good thing by consulting your physician, and you must follow his/her instructions to the letter. It may seem like a long time, but a stress fracture sometimes needs all of that to mend. Try some Pilates in the meantime. Tell the trainer what ails you, and exercise around it.

yeah, I had some problems with my achilles and while I was out of class I found that pilates really helped me stay strong and flexible until I could get back to dancing.
