dancer31220
Hi. This has never happened to me before, but lately I have been experiencing some pain in the lower part of my left leg. It starts at my ankle and goes up the bone on the outside of my calf until the halfway point between my knee and my foot. It started last night after class so I iced it. Today I just danced through it because I thought it would go away, but it didn't. It mostly hurts when I plie or move my foot slightly to the left. Does any one know what this could be?? I know this foot is my weaker foot, but I dont think it should be hurting like this. Sorry if this is confusing!! Thanks!! Quote Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted July 29, 2004 Administrators Report Share Posted July 29, 2004 Sounds like a strain of the anterior tibialis muscle. Ice and massage will help, and of course trying to find out the cause of the problem. It could be anything from badly fitted shoes to rolling your ankles in class and landing from jumps or relevés with the knees not over the toes. Quote Link to comment
dancer31220
Thanks Ms. Leigh. I will ice it again tonight. And now that I think about it, I think the cause is the last thing you mentioned because my teacher gets me for that all the time. Glad it is not more serious because I was worried for a little bit since I rarely get pains like that. Quote Link to comment
