Guest Eulalia
I am switching shcools, I am going from a Vaganova ballet based school to one where all the teachers (except two) all teach the RAD style of ballet. So my question is, what are the main differences between the two? Any answers would be very appreciated! Quote Link to comment
Mel Johnson
The primary difference that you're going to find in a switch from Vaganova to RAD will be in the lexicon (dictionary) of step and exercise names. No more battement jeté., it's glissé And no more passé retiré, it's retiré passé, but you'll recognize everything. The names of the arm positions and the arabesques are different, but they're still easily identified. Quote Link to comment

Guest imadancer
I went to an RAD based SI and as Mr. Johnson said, the vocab is much different, but easy to adjust to. Quote Link to comment
