Guest 4evradancr
Whenever i close into fifth position lately i've noticed that closing fifth position from the front i am closing to a not so tight fifth position, as my working leg isn't turned out as much as it can be, but it is as turned out as i can get it for that time being. Is it just a matter of continuing to work my turnout, or is it something other than that? Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted August 7, 2004 Administrators Report Share Posted August 7, 2004 Hello 4evradancr, welcome to the Young Dancers' forum on Ballet Talk for Dancers! When you return to fifth, if you use your rotation correctly, you should be able to return to the same fifth that you started from. Be sure you are maintaining your rotation. When coming from a front position, lead in with the baby toe, and from the side lead in with the heel but maintain the same line of the foot that you have at the side. To do this you need to lift up out of the supporting hip and be sure your pelvis is correctly aligned. Link to comment
