Guest live2dance115
Turns have always been a struggle for me. But I have noticed that I usually can do the combination once, but then when I keep on going and do it over and over again I get really dizzy and I loose my placement. I have tried to work more on spotting but it still doesn't seem to do the trick. What should I do? Quote Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted August 10, 2004 Administrators Report Share Posted August 10, 2004 Can you be a bit more specific in terms of what kinds of turns you are talking about? Quote Link to comment
Guest live2dance115
I am talking mostly about combinations across the floor. Such as: pique turn combinations and fouette turns. Quote Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted August 11, 2004 Administrators Report Share Posted August 11, 2004 Any consecutive turns require absolute focus and spotting. The only answer to that is to practice spotting! However, sometimes when the spot fails in turns en diagonal, and in fouettés too, it's because the weight falls back and you are fighting to just get around. When that happens it is really not possible to continue the spot. So, instead of losing the spot causing the placement to go, it could be the other way around! Quote Link to comment
