Guest Bethie0420
I will be leaving for college sat. I've been dancing my entire life...with only a few breaks...mainly for an injury. Due to scheduling I'm unable to dance the first semester. Hopefully I will be able to use the studio...somthing I will find out when I arrive. I intend to keep on dancing....even if I can't take classes. So I do intend to use the studio if available. Also I was wondering what things can I do to keep my stength up. Esp for point. I intend to use New York city ballet work out...even tho it's just a work out. Are there any other ways I can keep my body in shape and keep my dancing strong...any videos that would be good to use.... Sorry If i keep repeating myself I didn't know exactly how to word this. Thank you for any help that you can give me ~Beth~ Link to comment
ashatNYU
Knock, knock ... Beth, I used the NYCB I video in college for a few semesters. Most of the stretches and exercises are do-able in a dorm-sized room, but I didn't have enough space for the warm up portion in the beginning. You could always focus on stretching and strengthening your core (abs, light pilates if you have had it previously) or even using a Theraband to strengthen your feet. I would also reccommend seeing if your school has a dance club (mine did and offered free classes a couple of times a month). Maybe if you can get a group of people interested, you can actually hold class for each other or petition a dance teacher to help you out. Link to comment
Guest Bethie0420
Thanks for the pilates advice. I took a free class that was offerd at my college last night and I felt the most streched since dance ended. I'm also looking into a theraband Thanks! Link to comment
