unsolicited criticism

Recommended Posts

We had a very similar situation occur to what mini cooper described when our branch school opened a few years ago (the main school was an hour away). The teacher had kindly left the door open for the benefit of the new parents. One of the parents (who considered herself an expert on everything) actually started correcting students in the classroom. The teacher came out and told her that she would correct her students and closed the door. I have, over the years, known parents who thought they knew more than the AD and teachers on every topic from pointe shoes to SI's. It has been my experience that the know-it-all's are the ones who can end up causing trouble or end up leaving the school when they aren't allowed to be the "experts".
