Guest Cris2501
I just wanted to let everyone know that I took my first ballet class in 8 years yesterday! I was really nervous and thought I would look really fat and do horrible, but it was a lot better than I expected, even if my legs did keep wobbling like jello. Everyone was so nice. I must admit that I am in a lot of pain today, but it is amazing how something that makes you feel so much pain can also make you feel so wonderful. Just had to share so I could let all my happiness out. Quote Link to comment

FleetFeet
Welcome and congrats on your first class. And don't worry the pain will decrease, then increase, then decrease, then increase,... Quote Link to comment
MJ
I smell an obsession growing. Best of luck! Mike Quote Link to comment
Guest Maiko
Well done! I too started classes this week for the first time in 12 years. After Monday night's class I could barely walk, and Tuesday was spent hobbling around like a rusty Tin-Man. Went to class again on Wednesday to stretch out those muscles and it was great IN class but now it's Thursday and I'm totally feeling the pain again! Hope you have lots of fun, enjoy! Guest Cris2501
I know what you mean Maiko. I have pain in places I didn't even know existed. I have so much work ahead of me. I just really want to get to where I was before because right now I'm awful Quote Link to comment
Guest LisaB
I'm with you. I started ballet class after a 12 or 13 year absence (it's been so long I can't remember exactly how long). I had prepared myself for horrible pain, but it wasn't as bad as I thought. I've been stretching almost every night since. I think it's helped the pain. Returning has been so exciting! Guest Chedva
I took my second ballet class this week - one was last year, but I couldn't fit it in with my dd's schedule, car pool, work, etc. The last class I had before that was at age 5 1/2 (and no, I won't tell you how long ago that was!). Now my dd is dancing at the same time as the adult class, so I've signed up since I have to be around there anyway! I now know of muscles that haven't been used since those initial dance classes (or maybe ever!) I also realized that how I look in dance clothes is not the silliest thing - it's how I look moving in dance clothes!! Putting two steps together, or coordinating the arms and the legs is much harder than I thought. But I'll stick with it, and I hope the rest of us do too. On the plus side, maybe I'm not as hard on myself as some of you, since I never could do this stuff! Quote Link to comment
