Guest bevvie
Hi there, I'm hoping that someone may be able to help me. When I was in highschool (many, many years ago) we had to read a book about a ballerina. I remember really enjoying the book and I would like to get it for my daughter but unfortunately I can't remember the name (or the author). I'm hoping that if I give a brief description of the book then someone might know it... It's about a young girl (and for some reason the name Anna sticks in my mind but I'm not sure if this is correct) who joins a ballet school. She befriends another girl there. It tells about how harsh the ballet training was and how they had to bind their toes tightly and dance on their toes until their feet bled. If I remember correctly either both or one of the girls meets a boy and falls in love.... I do apologise for being so vaque but it was 18 years ago that I read it!! Hopefully someone can help me. Thanks in advance. Quote Link to comment
vrsfanatic
Welcome to BalletTalk for Dancers. I am sorry, I wish I could help you but I do not know this book. Good Luck! I am sure you will be able to find other interesting topics here. Please feel free to ask any questions. Has your daughter just begun ballet? Quote Link to comment
Toby
I recently found a copy of Edward Stewart's "Ballerina" at a thrift store. The general storyline is about two ballet dancers who are friends. The mother in the book is named Anna. I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but I'm sure you can find a copy on Amazon.
