jm278
I am trying to track down what I believe is an out of print book. It was really neat...photographs of famous dancer's shoes, and a synopsis of their background. The copy at the library was old, beat, missing pages, and they (ugh) discarded it. I would gladly have taken it off their hands! I can remember that George De La Pena was in it, because daughter had him at ABT SI. If anyone recognizes the book I'm referring to, could you supply the key data ie: IBN, author, accurate title, publisher etc.?? Better yet, anyone want to sell a copy? Would like to have before Christmas! Quote Link to comment
rg
i trust this is the book you're thinking about: Sorine, Daniel S. Title :Dancershoes [by] Daniel S. & Stephanie Riva Sorine. 1st ed. Imprint :New York, Knopf, 1979. Description:94 p. illus. 24 cm. Notes :Includes interviews with numerous dancers with their commentary about ballet shoes. any number of used book sites might have a copy for sale, such as alibris, etc. good luck. dido
I love that book, and it's quite easy to find in any of the online used bookstores, quite cheaply, or was about 6 months ago. Quote Link to comment
jm278
Besides Amazon, could you name a few favorite online used book web sites? I'd appreciate it...with the above info I can start my search! quote=dido,Nov 24 2004, 01:20 AM] I love that book, and it's quite easy to find in any of the online used bookstores, quite cheaply, or was about 6 months ago. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Quote Link to comment
dido
rg already mentioned alibris.com, also bookfinder.com or even Amazon (use the banner!) would probably have it from their used books department. Quote Link to comment
Skittl1321
http://www.addall.com/ does a comphrensive search of a lot of different book stores. Some that I have used include half.com, ebay.com, amazon.com (through the above banner, of course), barnesandnoble.com, albris.com, abebooks.com I tend to always check addall because it compares prices WITH shipping!
