Redstorm
Dd has been waiting, impatiently, for her first tutu. It was due to arrive on Friday the 3rd. We couldn't wait for the UPS truck because she had a lecture demonstration at a local school. She was so excited when we got home. The box was on the table. She ran into her room with it wanting to try it on for her dad and I....to give us the full effect. I hear her call out to me...mom, it's RED. (it is supposed to be light pink) I called back that she needs to take it all the way out, that it probably just looks red because of the packaging. She calls out again. Mom, it is red, black and gold and is for Don Q! I ran down the hall and sure enough...she had the most beautiful Red, black and gold tutu I had ever seen. I looked at the invoice and sure enough...it was ours. But it wasn't!! We had ordered a light pink with silver decorations. On top of it all...the costume was too small! DD couldn't even hook it up. DD was so upset and I was getting very angry. This costume was ordered for a December 18th performance. I called the company not thinking I would get anyone since the company is in New Jersey and it was after 6pm in CA. Believe it or not, someone answered the phone. I explained the situation and they were so nice. They do not know what happened, do not know who's tutu it is and promised to have a new tutu delivered to her by December 16th. We remeasured dd just to make sure of sizes and used this tutu as a sample. We found out that some of our measurements were a bit off so we adjusted them. Maybe this was not such a bad thing after all! All in all it was a wild Friday night! I do have to say....the tutu that Theatre Ballet sent was exceptionally made. The workmanship is fantastic. It was worth every penny! The cost was very reasonable compared to all the other places we looked. There customer service is top notch as well. They were very willing to fix this mix up and took immediate responsibility. I am sure this is not something that happens often with this company. I can't wait to see dd's tutu when it gets here. It is going to be close, but hopefully it will all work out in the long run. Quote Link to comment
Guest fille'smom
Anyone ever had experience with tutu rental from this company? Quote Link to comment
Momof3darlings
Please be sure to make an additional follow up call in a few days or at least by the end of the week. A dancer at our studio ordered from them last year as well, with no problems. However, I thought their tutus were Russian imports from the conversation I had with her mom when she ordered. If so, hopefully they have a pink tutu here already. I could be wrong, but just check again next week on the progress as getting one from Russian in this time isn't a possibility. vj Quote Link to comment
Redstorm
Thanks for the advice! I was told that they had the tutu and were working on that immediately, the potential for a time problem was going to be in the bodice, but I was assured it would be here in time. Momof3darlings
Don't forget to fill us in on what happens and if you receive the new one by Dec. 16th. vj Quote Link to comment
Redstorm
I talked to Julia tonight and she says the tutu will ship out tomorrow. I did have a bit of a start when she said....this is a pink tutu with silver decorations, right? YES!!!! Keep your fingers crossed! I will let you all know when it gets here. Quote Link to comment
Redstorm
Quick update....it shipped!!! We will have it on Thursday the 16th as promised. Now, let's just hope I measure my daughter correctly! As long as it is here, any adjustments needed can be done. I am very impressed with this company. We plan on ordering a practice tutu from them next. Quote Link to comment
Redstorm
Okay....the tutu is on the UPS truck. It was supposed to be an AM delivery but evidently UPS doesn't deliver to residential in the AM. DD has dress rehearsal tonight and we have to leave in one hour. Now, for the most frustrating part..... Our UPS driver is parked down the street in an outlet NAPPING. I even went down there, parked next to him and banged on the door. He won't answer. I have no idea when he is due to deliver to our area. I am hoping soon. I am ready to lose it. Once dd gets that darned tutu, I am going to have a bottle of wine....not a glass....the whole bottle! Mrs. Stahlbaum
It's bad enough I have to worry about my own dd's Nutcracker. Now I'm on pins and needles worrying about yours too. Enjoy that bottle of wine. We have our fingers crossed for you. Quote Link to comment
Redstorm
UPS came with 5 minutes to spare. I have to admit, he looked rested. The tutu is gorgeous. Beautifully made with vibrant color and stunning decorations. Everything fit perfect. I would highly recommend this company for a great tutu at a very reasonable cost. DD's teacher was so impressed, she wants the website address to view thier tutus herself. The show will go on..... and dd will look gorgeous in her first "real" tutu! Quote Link to comment

And thinking about the evening news report that could have occured. UPS Man calls 911 as Frantic TUTUMAMA arrested for ransacking the UPS truck for missing tutu. More at 11! So glad things worked out for you. And glad the tutu was lovely and fit! (Did it have a choice? Either that or "TUTU mom storms office of TUTU company and hijacks plane for return home by showtime! More at 11!" And by now, I'm sure DD had a wonderful Dress rehearsal and will have an even better performance tonight! vj Quote Link to comment
