Coralseaa
Whenever i execute a arabesque derriere, i can feel my tummy popping out and i cannot have a 90 deg extension without tilting really forward. Thus, the line is not asthetically pleasing as i would have wanted. What can i do to increase the strength ? Has it got to do with a weak back and weak abs? Thank you! Quote Link to comment
Mel Johnson
Arabesque derriere? Arabesques are all to the back. In order to preserve the "arabesque spiral", the torso must incline forward a bit, but also pull up in sort of a diagonal. The hips cannot remain absolutely square, but the the student must lift out of the supporting hip, and open ever so slightly on the working leg. That should help you avoid bowing the back forward.
