b1
Holy Mackerel! A name from the past! His name is actually King, not an alias. I was at Boston Ballet when he was there. King, I think you have some photos of me, perhaps. I will e-mail you at your website. It was quite sad to see the people who have passed on. Wonderful Woytek and lovely Annemarie Sarazin. Also it was nice to see pictures of dancers who didn't stay dancing for a long time...Ellen O'Reilly (who's mother just passed away recently) and Jerilyn Dana (another blast from the past!) How lovely to see those faces again! b1 Quote Link to comment

She's wearing a black tutu. I'm glad you like it. Here's a beautiful site by my friend, the British photographer Simon Richardson. King Quote Link to comment
King
And here's a link to some beautiful Max Waldman photographs of famous dancers. King Quote Link to comment
Babsaroo
Knock, knock King - What a lovely group of photographs. It was a personal glimpse into ballet's past. What a sweet surprise to be clicking through and coming upon phots of Terri Lynn Wright. She is a well-respected instructor at my dd's ballet school. Quote Link to comment
King
I'm very happy you enjoyed the photos and that you discovered the shots of Terri Lynn Wright, whom I have known since she was 12 years old. King Quote Link to comment
mmded
I hope this is not too off topic, but here it goes. What are the legalities of posting dancer's photos on the internet. I sign waivers every year for my dancer's residential school allowing them to use photos of my minor aged dancer. On two occasions there have been photos posted on the internet taken by outside photographers ; one set was actually not too bad , the most recent photos are quite awful from a dance perspective and also touch ups have been done that are not necessary. Do I have the right to ask for them to be removed? The photos were done at a public performance and there was no mention of photos not being allowed because it was an outdoor venue so there were not concerns about flash photography. King
What are the legalities of posting dancer's photos on the internet<{POST_SNAPBACK}> You certainly have a right to *ask* to have photos removed from the internet, but you have little or no legal recourse if there is no commercial use. I'm 60 years old and have been taking photos for more than 35 years. I was on the board of governors of the American Society of Magazine Photographers and I'm very familiar with copyright laws. The World Wide Web has facilitated widespread abuse of copyright law. However, copyright law places no restriction on the simple exhibition of an artist's own work (we can argue later on the meaning of the word "artist" :>) ). Many of my photographs have been published on the web without my permission. When I find such usage, I usually just ask for photo credit next to the image. However, the person in charge is not usually the webmaster or designer and it's like pulling teeth to get changes made once a webpage is published. Good luck!
