Thicker Tights

Hi All,

 

I have been looking for some thick tights and have not had much luck. The descriptions on the various sites don't do much for me.

I wear capezio footed tights, but want something a bit thicker.

Several men in class have thicker footless tights, but they don't remember what they were called.

Any advice would be appreciated.

It's not the thickness, it's the opacity. M. Stevens tights are excellent for minimum show-through.

Buy them as large as possible. The more you stretch them the more seethough they will become

I wear Danskin footless tights for class, they are quite thick and not able to see through nomatter how much you stretch them

The higher the Denier number on the tights the more opaque they are

I asked some of the guys at the studio and they wear Allen footless tights.

I like the look of them. Are there any tights similar in thickenss and opacity as the Allen tights? ANy suggestions for where to get them?

Stevens does not maintain an independent web presence. Google "M. Stevens tights" for places that sell them.

Knock--just a parent of a male dancer. We get thick, stretchy, opaque cotton tights, either footed or footless, from cameodancewear.com. They are also reasonably priced.

Go to a site call Renaissance Dancewear. They make heavy cotton spandex tights. The new Capezio Meryl tights are also heavier than their nylon tights. Fit better too!

Allen are on line too!

I have been wearing Mondor black footless tights in class for the past five years. They are not to thick and are very opaque despite a lot of usage. I have also used Mirella's black footed tights in past recitals; they are thick and warm but very opaque. First time in white tights comming up in june; they will also be Mirella.

I got a pair of the Capezio men's Meryl tights, and they are amazing. Thick but very very soft and comfortable. I'm 6'5" and the XL almost feel a little big for me! Glad to see they are adding some improved designs to they men's wear!

I also wear Capezio (the footed ones). I am 5'11'' and also have the XL version... Do you mean they are too long? I have the feeling that the XL is too short for me and I wish there would be XXL

Have Capezio changed the old no. 10 men's tights from nylon to Meryl, then? I can only see one type of men's tights on their website - there aren't any listed with the other Meryl garments... I've just got a couple of the Meryl tops, though, and they're great - really comfortable. If the tights are the same I want some!
