Guest jstephens
Is there a graded french school? What about graded schools for adults? I know that there is a Ceccetti school nearby, and I am going to call them first thing in the morning to ask if they "grade" adults as well. Anyone have suggestions on choosing a school? Guest jstephens
Sorry, I didn't make that clear. I live in the US, and I was taught the french port au bras and feet positions. I am wondering if there is a graded system that uses the french "method." Jackie Quote Link to comment
Mel Johnson
"The French School" is one of those puzzles wrapped in a riddle covered with an enigma. The Opéra standards are notoriously inscrutable and opaque. The Conservatoire curriculum is said to resemble the Paris one in many ways, by those in a position to know, but what that is has so far resisted export. Quote Link to comment

Mel Johnson
Always remember the words of Prof. Peter Schickele: "It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that certain je ne sais quoi!" Quote Link to comment
spinbug
I take class at a cecchetti studio and have taken my tests in grade one and two and will take my grade three in a month. So far I have been in exams with all kids and no other adults besides the examiners but that doesn't really bother me since I take classes with kids anyways. I don't think they have a problem with your taking it with the kids if you don't. Good luck finding something. CJ Quote Link to comment
