Guest jstephens
Can you find a copy of the syllabus online, and the exams? I would like to know what to expect if I attend a cecchetti school. I also would like to know what each exam includes. Jackie Quote Link to comment
ashatNYU
Hi Jackie! I started ballet at a Cecchetti school and I must say that it was the best introduction to dance that I could have had as an adult. I am a very detail oriented person and the Cecchetti method and syllabus really stresses details (straight legs, arm placement, weight placement, etc.) and gives each movement a strong foundation on which to build. I haven't seen any of the syllabi online, but you may want to check out the Cecchetti Council of America's website and peek around there. They also have a message board where I'm sure you could pose questions. The written syllabus books are actually quite difficul to understand unless it is explained to you and you have the CD for that particular level. If you have any more questions, I will do my best to help! Ashley Quote Link to comment
Guest Aurelie
I used started at a new ballet school and they use the Cecchetti syllabus. I really like the Cecchetti method. I have the old Syllabus but it is pretty hard to understand unless you are working on those specific combinations. I am taking the level 3 exam in two months so i'll let you know how that goes, this will be my first exam in ballet. Aurelie Quote Link to comment
