Guest Allie
If anyone is interested in coming to south Louisiana near New Orleans this is your chance to come and get in some good ballet too! My teacher has offered a three day summer intensive for adults if I can get 10 people to come. Only $200! What a bargain, plus you will be SO close to the French Quarter and all the history New Orleans has to offer. Right now the details are sketchy becuase I have only three people, but if you are interested please let me know. We would love to have you! I am pretty much a beginner, just started a year ago, so all levels are welcome. If you want to check out her credentials look up www.selu.edu and search dance. Her name is Artie Fellom. Guest Allie
We are now up to six people. I told Ms. Fellom today in class that I posted the idea on this site. She is excited, adn we will be sending out flyers in the next week or so. If you want more information please let me know! Quote Link to comment
Tiffany
What days, what levels, what types of classes (technique, pointe, variations, anything other than ballet)? How many classes per day? Quote Link to comment
Guest Allie
We will be doing all skill levels. Ms Fellom teaches pointe as well as the pas de deaux. My husband will be coming with me and we hope to get some other men in there as well. The dates are not set in stone yet, but we are looking at June. It will be a 3-4 day "boot camp" and we will go from 9am till noon. Take an hour for lunch (brown bag), do some relaxation after lunch then go till 330 or 4. Quote Link to comment
crzctldt
Allie- how close to New Orleans? My daughter lives there and might be interested. However, she'll be moving north to NC sometime in mid to late June. Quote Link to comment
Guest Allie
Hammond is about a 45 minute drive from the New Orleans airport, and about an hour from the French Quarter depending on traffic. If you have an atlas just run your finger up I-55 North from the city and you will see Hammond at the intersection of I-12 and I-55. Southeastern Louisiana University is the college Ms. Fellom teaches at, and she also has a studio right off campus. Her studio is where we will be doing the classes unless there are so many interested that we need to rent something bigger-which would be AWESOME! Im hoping to have some solid dates in the next 7days or so. Im trying to get an idea of what is best for everyone, the beginning of the week or the end. But Im tentatively looking at the week of June 12th, and 26th. Quote Link to comment
