Guest dancingstar32
Hi, I am currently on pointe, but I also take regular technique classes in slippers. Would it be beneficial, even though I am already on pointe, to use them to strengthen my feet, etc.? I also find that I have a hard time balancing in pointe shoes, so would wearing these help with this? Link to comment
Guest afroballet01
*Mods, sorry for posting in the wrong forum...Delete if nesscary* If you are having trouble balancing in your pointes, and want to strengthen your feet then yes wearing demi-pointe shoes would be beneficial. These purposes are what they are often used for. Hopefuldancer
As for strengthening your feet, yes!! Its much harder to point your foot in a pointe shoe than it is in a regular technique shoe.. so in the long run your feet will strengthen as they become more accustomed to the pointe shoes. But you also need to take into consideration, will it be too much work for you? I've seen girls dancing with pointes at the barre and sometimes they have to sacrifice fully pointing their feet in the shoes to keep up with fast combinations(and yes, I'm guilty on this too sometimes ).. Which is a very bad, bad thing.... Link to comment
