Guest dance2smile
do you think it would be possible for me to become a professional dancer if i just started ballet when i was 14? i really like ballet but my parents dont have the money to put me into more classes right now. i was wondering because ive been trying really hard in class and ive been thinking a lot about being a dancer in a company. Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted April 9, 2005 Administrators Report Share Posted April 9, 2005 dance2smile, while nothing is impossible, there is really no way for us to answer that question without seeing you. We don't know about your natural ability, physical facility, coordination, flexibility, rotation, feet, proportions, musicality, or anything else. However, I will say that without the very best intensive daily training, it will not happen for anyone, whether they start at 8 or 14. Quote Link to comment
Mel Johnson
You'll never know unless you try! You must have the very best instruction available to you, and apply yourself diligently. A break-in period, I think, at the start, will be necessary before taking up class every day, but you will soon have to get to that point. A good school will know how to get you there. Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted April 9, 2005 Administrators Report Share Posted April 9, 2005 Richmond Ballet is a very good school. I do not know the other one, but I would strongly suggest that you try to get to as many classes as you can at Richmond Ballet. Quote Link to comment

Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted April 10, 2005 Administrators Report Share Posted April 10, 2005 If you can get into an SI program, with the limited training you have had, definitely go for it! Quote Link to comment
