balareena
I was just wondering if you can, and how! I thought it might be good to fix them up a little. I have never washed them and I got them last July! Thanks!!! -balareena- Edited April 10, 2005 by balareena Quote Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted April 10, 2005 Administrators Report Share Posted April 10, 2005 Yes, you can wash them. I would wash them in cold water, in the washing machine, but don't put them in the dryer! Quote Link to comment
balareena
O.k, thanks. do you think that I could hand wash them or would that not work (thay have holes in them)?. Would any kind of soap work? Edited April 11, 2005 by balareena Quote Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted April 10, 2005 Administrators Report Share Posted April 10, 2005 balareena, if they have holes in them, then it's very definitely time for some new shoes. Not worth the effort to wash them. Quote Link to comment
balareena
O.k, thanks for your help!!!!!!!!!! -balareena- Quote Link to comment
danseur
Can you wash leather ballet slippers? They really need it! Quote Link to comment
balareena
this might not be right but I saw someone washing theirs with a baby wipe! wait until Ms. Leigh gets here before you do anything, you don't want to ruin the leather. -balareena- Edited April 12, 2005 by balareena Quote Link to comment
toedancer
Definitely dont put your canvas shoes in the dryer! I did once and they shrunk so much that I had to get a whole new pair of shoes. Edited April 11, 2005 by toedancer Quote Link to comment
balareena
O.k. I wont!!! -balareena- Quote Link to comment
kellyisthebestintheworld
I wash my canvas ballet slippers ALL the time. I put them in the dryer too and they've never shrunk. I think maybe it was just my slippers because almost everyone else's have shrunk. Quote Link to comment
Skye90
hi danseur....you were asking about washing leather ballet shoes? Well, did you mean the inside or the outside? When mine are dirty on the outside (with rosin and stuff) I just get out the soapy water and a cloth and scrub away. They come out looking great! But, I wouldn't know anything about the inside And if mine are just look really bad out side, I paint them again. Acutally, this is really bad ( a sign I don't have much money), I've painted them about 4 times now! Quote Link to comment
danseur
Hi...I meant the inside. It's really sweaty and gross! The outside is a little dirty too. Skye90, What kind of paint do you use on your shoes? Quote Link to comment
Dance_Scholar_London
If you do machine wash, definitely wash them COLD. Even at 30degree they will shrink a bit and most likely will feel uncomfortable. Quote Link to comment
Guest Misballet
I've always wanted to wash my leather slippers, but I wasnt sure how. Thanks for the help! Anyways, I used to have canvas slippers and I would wash them all of the time in the washing machine on a gental wash. They turned out great. Quote Link to comment
Skye90
What kind of paint do you use on your shoes? I use this paint called Ultra Flexible Paint, and it's designed for dance shoes. I'm able to find it at any dance store. It just looks like leather once it's on, and it's flexible and everything. Quote Link to comment
