Trying to find my first teacher

Recommended Posts

I would love to get in touch with my first ballet teacher - I started at 21 as a student in Cambridge MA in the early 1980s. I can't Google her because (due to advancing years) I can only remember her first name, Anna. She was with Copley Square ballet, had very long brown hair back then, taught Cecchetti. My mid-life reassessment (!) sees me taking classes much more seriously now than I have for years so I was thinking about the person who got me started in ballet. I'd be grateful for any suggestions on how to find her.

Is there any chance that it's Anna Myer? I've taken her class - she doesn't teach Cecchetti (erm, I think - I'm not so good at knowing the difference). The bio below is from www.dancecomplex.org.

I have no idea how old she is - over 40, anyway. She's pretty dynamic and fond of castanets when she doesn't have an accompanist. Oh, and she has brown hair! Short, though.

Anna Myer www.annamyerdancers.org (Ballet) received scholarships from American Ballet Theatre, Joffrey Ballet and a Ford Foundation Scholarship from the School of American Ballet. Since 1978, she has performed with various companies in the Boston area such as Boston Ballet, Caitlin Corbett Dance Company and Copley Square Ballet, as well as directing her own company, "Anna Myer and Dancers" in contemporary works. Myer also directs the Cambridge School of Ballet.
