team-green32
I have a little question for you guys. I can lay on my back and extend my legs into side splits, but the other day I was lying on a weight bench, so I could lower them even lower, and I found that it wouldn't go any lower. So, here is my question; Can you hit a point when no matter how much flexibilty you have, your hip socket won't let you go any farther? Thanks in advance Edited April 13, 2005 by team-green32 Quote Link to comment
Mel Johnson
The hipjoint has a natural "stop" built in so that you can't go any further back than straight to the side. It's called the backside, the butt, the toockis. You can't go any further back than 90° without swinging that thing out of the way, and there's no other way to do it than to open the hip slightly.
