Barbara Bears of Houston Ballet

Hey,

I had Barbara Bears as a teacher when I was with Houston Ballet, and I wanted to know if anyone has seen her dance, I never had the opportunity, but I have seen pictures. She was such a great teacher (my opinon!)....wasn't flashy or extravagant, but she knew how teach...Anyone find inspirational or at least seen her dance?

Unfortunately I haven't but I'm sure that some of our Houston folks will have! I see you've gotten several nice replies to your thread on the other board: Barbara Bears on Ballet Talk where you'll see that she was a student of Victoria Leigh's.

I've seen her dance! I love her! I also saw her with her son when i was auditioning for a summer intensive at the Houston Ballet Academy. She's an awesome dancer! I'd love to take a class with her sometime!

i am lucky enough to be able to watch her dance every day. and i will tell you that she is a truely amazing dancer that can make any role her own. she has such versatility and smoothness. she excels both in contemporary and classical ballets. if you ever have the chance to see her perform you must take it!
