Changing schools advice: how to tell instructors

Recommended Posts

If the school is depending upon her for any upcoming productions that they were expecting her to be a part of, and that she had already committed to, then you may want to give them a heads-up; if not, then I think your plan is good. Notes are a nice touch.

Just don't be surprised if there is some jealousy that results....hopefully not, but unfortunately, as I have learned here on the boards, it is a fairly common occurrance. :)

Good luck!

She does have a performance coming up at her current studio and will participate. She's looking forward to it, actually. :) She may have to leave the Monday right after the Saturday performance so that she'll be eligible to perform at the new ballet school's end of the year student showcase, so she'd give her notice during the run up to the performance. She's concerned that if she gives advanced notice, this will change the tone of the performance preparation for her. You know, it just might, but she's gotta do what she's gotta do.

Thanks again for your help.
