Guest plain-dancer
This is a correction I was given several times in class tonight...to stretch my knees, especially when coming up from a plie. I have to say I didn't really understand it. When I tried to respond, the teacher said "good" but I couldn't really feel what the difference was. I just tried to pull my whole self up a little more. Does anyone have a helpful image or some insight? I'd never thought of "stretching my knees" before. Quote Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted September 14, 2005 Administrators Report Share Posted September 14, 2005 Sometimes dancers will forget to straighten up ALL the way between pliés. Just check to be sure that you complete the movement and end in a fully stretched position. It's also possible that you are not using the quads and getting the knees fully straight when you think they are. That's where the mirror comes in handy! Quote Link to comment
Guest plain-dancer
Thank you, Ms. Leigh. Next week I'll take a bit of the barre close to the mirror and watch my knees. Quote Link to comment
