toedancer
Sometimes my friends and I stretch each others feet. I just read in another forum that you are supposed to keep one hand behind the achilles tendon while you do this and I was wondering why? Do you mean to press with your hand on the achilles tendon or hold it in a particular way? I want to be safe while I am doing this stretch , so any replies would be appreciated. Thanks. Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted November 1, 2005 Administrators Report Share Posted November 1, 2005 Sorry, toedancer! I guess I missed this one last night. The hand behind the achilles is for support and protection, and it gives the one doing the stretching a solid place to hold while working on the instep. The hand on the instep should go right over the top of it, not on the metatarsals. Quote Link to comment
