Guest dancer'sheart
I'm currently practicing on tiled floors in my house. Plies and extensions mostly in ballet slippers. When I do releves or pointe work (stationary, no jumps) I lay down a yoga mat and a padded mat with a top lining similar to felt. Is this bad? Any suggestions as to what I can put on my tiled floors for shock absorption? dancer'sheart Quote Link to comment
lampwick
It's probably just not a good idea to do lots of releve or pointe work at home. You could give yourself shin splints. You can still work on plie and balancing on one leg. Practice simple balancing on one leg is really great, easy work to do at home. Quote Link to comment
Guest dancer'sheart
Thanks lampwick, will follow your advice. Do you know of any flooring I might be able to put over uneven floorboards? dancer'sheart Quote Link to comment
